Hounded to Death: A Novel

by: Rita Mae Brown
I have enjoyed all of the Rita Mae Brown books I have read. They are a great read for an animal lover

Raising a Champion: A Beginner's Guide to Showing Dogs

by: A. Meredith John; Carole L. Richards
I think its marvellous book for all beginner handlers and breeders who are interested for showing their dogs. I just started to read this book, but I can not set down. I found professional advices in this book.Raising a Champion: A Beginner's Guide to Showing Dogs

Tricks of the Trade: From Best Intentions to Best in Show, Revised Edition

by: Pat Hastings
I must say that I am very much impressed by this book and recommend it for everyone. I have found these reviews to be very helpful and always read them before deciding to purchased a book (especially a pricey one). This book is the equivalent to the DVD "Puppy Puzzle", I purchased both and found the book was a lot easier for me to absorb. Another book that is great is also by this author called "Puppy Development". I recommend this book to new breeders and people who want to get into showing, it has lots of useful information and it is very, very easy to read!

The Winning Edge: Show Ring Secrets (Howell reference books)

by: George Alston
This book is definately for beginner show handlers. The book is an extremely quick read with very few "secrets". Anyone who has taken a beginning handling course from someone who has shown dogs would learn just as much or more than what this book offers.
The book is worth reading, but I would pick it up at your local library and read it in a night or two. Not worth adding this to your collection.
